Getting married in Florence is a dream for many, and every couple who dreams of getting married in this wonderful city is full of doubts about it. It’s normal! For this reason we decided to write this article, to help future brides and grooms to better understand how to proceed in organizing their wedding in this magic city rich in history, art and romance. We have collected the most frequent questions that couples are asking us when they decide to get married in Florence, hoping to help you and clarify your ideas about it.
1) How much does it cost to get married in Florence?
We put this question at the top of the list because it is the one we are asked most frequently. In reality there is no pre-established budget: everything depends on what you want, therefore the final cost of your wedding depends on an infinite number of variables, ranging from the number of guests, to the place you will choose for the ceremony, to the wedding banquet, the length of your stay in Florence and so on. So first of all you will have to ask yourself: what kind of wedding do we want? Do we want a civil wedding, a religious ceremony or a symbolic marriage? Do we want a wedding with few people or a wedding with hundreds of guests? How long do we want to stay in Florence? When you have found an answer to all these questions, we will take care of the rest and offer you a wide range of options from which you can choose according to your personal preferences. And remember that there are no right marriages or wrong marriages: the right marriage is what you want for yourself.
2) What is the best time of year to get married in Florence?
Probably the best time to get married in Florence is between April and October. In fact, most couples decide to get married in this period, characterized by longer and sunny days. So if you are planning to get married in these months, you should think about it well in advance, so as to have time to organize everything in the best way and without stress. It should also be said that at this time of year the prices are higher than, for example, in the months from November to March. It should also be noted that in the summer months in Florence it is very hot, especially in July and August. So if you don’t care to get married during the summer, you can opt to get married in the winter months: the climate of the city will certainly not be what you find in spring and summer, but it will still be mild and the city will offer you the other face of itself, despite everything always romantic and charming. After all, you are in Florence!
3) What place to choose from the endless number of dreamy places that this city has to offer?
This is a good question! Florence is full of wonderful places, filled with history, art, culture and romance. Everything is up to you! Do you want to get married during the months from April to October? Probably the ideal choice for you could be a ceremony in some Renaissance villa, surrounded by a green and lush garden, bordered by cypresses, with a breathtaking view of the Tuscan hills teeming with vineyards… Or, rather, are you a couple interested in art and history, and maybe do you want a religious wedding? A beautiful church frescoed by Florentine painters could be for you…
4) Is it possible to organize a small wedding?
The answer is of course! We are used to this type of request. In fact, a small wedding in Florence has nothing to envy to a large wedding. Indeed, a wedding with a few close people will allow you to concentrate more on the details and to devote more time to yourself and the loved ones around you, making them feel an integral part of your special day.
5) Can we take advantage of the wedding occasion in Florence to visit the region?
Absolutely! Tuscany is a region rich of history, art and landscapes. Nothing is missing for a perfect honeymoon. There are many places to visit, starting from the beautiful Florence: its historic center is full of palaces, churches, villas and monuments; just to name a few among the most famous, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery… walking through the streets of the historic center you will come across the famous San Lorenzo market, the perfect place to delight yourself in the Tuscan cuisine and its famous dishes based on truffles or wild boar meat, all accompanied by fine wines; to crown the perfect stay you will find the friendliness and hospitality of the inhabitants of this region.
