Frankly speaking, the wedding ceremony in Chianti is not something you need some particular requirements to comply with. Nevertheless, if you want to get married in Chianti legally, some paperwork should be carefully prepared in advance, but nothing more than this. Things are a bit more complicated if you also wish to organise a religious ceremony with its legal value but either this is not a problem!
If you are not Italian citizens but you want your marriage to have its legal value in your country, you need to obtain a “nulla osta”, a document stating that there are no obstacles for being married. The document must be translated into Italian and then notarized.
You can also attach a “certificate of legal capacity to marry” to your set of documents. It should be released by your country, and you can submit it when you are applying for your banns to be posted.
If you both are non-EU residents, then, you will be asked for one more document to get married in Chianti. Apart from “nulla osta”, you should also have a document demonstrating that you meet the Italian legal requirements.
