Lucca is a splendid northern Tuscan town on the west coast of Italy. This ancient city impresses our couples who chose to have a wedding there with its towers and churches. Its tranquillity and harmony are perfect for you to celebrate an elopement wedding! Lucca is particularly beautiful in spring when it is immersed in the lush colours of the greenery under a cloudless blue sky.
Annalisa first met Marco when he became a newbie in her class at high school. They started to hang out in the same company, and later, she got to know that his family came from Italy to the UK for work. A famous local museum offered them contracts as they were experienced researchers in the field of art. So, Marco moved with them by changing school and social circle completely. Annalisa was nice to him from the beginning, but hardly ever she could imagine how far it will take her!
After a few months, they started to see each other, got their parents acquainted, went to a prom together and faced a live decision of where to go after finishing high school. Marco and Annalisa have pretty much different interests, so they had an understanding that they might choose different paths by starting universities in different cities. At that point, Annalisa decided to make a big step by proposing to Marco, and of course, he could not say “no” to that! Annalisa made an engagement on New Year Eve, so it was a very much family event. After that, Marco has had an idea to surprise his loved one and planned an elopement wedding in his motherland!

There are two main options for your marriage ceremonies in Lucca. Most often, they are held in the historic Palazzo Orsetti, in the heart of the city. The second option where to have a wedding ceremony in Lucca are several historic 17th and 18th-century villas with beautiful parks and gardens. They enjoy the exclusive right, granted by the City Hall, to hold a formal wedding ceremony in Lucca. These villas, once the residences of noble families, still retain their former elegance thanks to quality restoration work and are therefore exclusive venues for weddings in Chianti, Tuscany, both for the ceremony and for the banqueting. So, let’s go back to our romantic elopement wedding!
By the way, do we all know what does it mean? “Elopement wedding” refers to a marriage conducted in a secretive fashion, usually involving a hurried flight away together with the beloved one to get married. So, it is a miraculous holiday only for you two, celebrating with just yourselves or organising a small gathering. This does not mean you cannot invite anyone, but the guest list is far more casual than what is expected for a usual wedding. No seating chart is required here!
Even though an elopement wedding does not imply hundreds of invited guests, organising this type of event also takes time, especially if you try to plan your wedding from the other side of the world. Our couples often ask us some questions regarding the proper organisation, mainly to be sure that they move in the right direction. To have a small ceremony, being hidden among the green fields? Any your desire is the inspiration for us to work on! If you want to know how to plan an elopement wedding in Chianti, Tuscany, read our article!

In Lucca, there are many hotels and suites of high-quality service. We booked a week in the boutique hotel for Annalisa and Marco to have a rest and enjoy the family visit, the city of Lucca, and its surroundings. This ancient town has tiny castles and towers on every corner, so why not admire these views? Many hotels in such a picturesque region have terraces on their roofs, with a magnificent view of olive groves and mountainous horizon.
Right after the official part, Brilliant Wedding Tuscany offered our great couple a room with an observation deck. It had a stunning view of the ancient Guinigi tower, which served them the best scenery for their postcard-view elopement. As Marco tried to keep it secret to surprise his bride, the terrace was decorated according to a groom’s preferences, who knows the preferences of his future wife better than anyone else: romantic candles and rose petals on the floor made a perfect atmosphere of that evening. Moreover, we suggested inviting a musician and, surprisingly to Annalisa, he performed her favourite songs! Imagine yourself dancing in the twilight witnessing the marvellous Tuscan sunset to the sounds of your favourite tunes. Looks miraculous, isn’t it? And it did look great in reality!
The couple organised their ceremony in a pretty modest way, elopement is still an elopement, but what about Marco’s family gathering? Brilliant Wedding Tuscany helped newlyweds to choose a perfect venue and booked a cosy villa for a wonderful family dinner! We offered a cook either, that evening was only about delightful pleasure! Elopement, symbolic wedding, official ceremony, or vows renewal? There is only you to decide, while Brilliant Wedding Tuscany will take care of everything else!
