A romantic and intimate proposal in picture-perfect Chianti.
Sunset wedding proposal in Chianti, Tuscany: who could say ‘no’ to this?
Located between Florence and Siena, Chianti is the land of olive groves, vineyards, great food and wine, fortified medieval villages and stunning rolling hills.
Its sublime landscape and its rich artistic, cultural and historical heritage make it an incredibly popular choice for romantic events like marriage proposals and destination weddings.
Here, far from tourist crowds, we arranged a beautiful sunset wedding proposal for Oscar and Lydia.

Tuscany has been a bucket list destination of Oscar’s for a long time. So when he contacted us asking for help with his proposal planning in Chianti we made it sure it became even more memorable!
His proposal idea was quite clear from the beginning: he wanted to do it somewhere in the countryside, immersed in a peaceful and intimate atmosphere maybe near a typical cottage or a country estate. Chianti is full of these kinds of settings and so we immediately started with the research.
Sunset wedding proposal in Chianti, Tuscany: the planning

Planning the perfect proposal is not only about finding the best location for the couple but also creating a “wow factor”. Details always make a difference: that’s why we had long talks with Oscar to make sure the proposal perfectly reflected who he was, what Lydia likes and their love story.
Our goal is to make the proposal something couples can remember forever.
When we suggested a sunset proposal on Chianti Hills Oscar looked enthusiastic and was sure his girlfriend was going to be utterly in love.
Once we found the right spot, everything else started taking shape.
Oscar was going to ask for Lydia’s hand on a warm June evening, during a fully set up and romantically styled picnic with delicious Tuscan dishes, among Chianti’s green and wheat fields at sunset. We hired a professional wedding photographer to capture the picnic, proposal and every moment in between and took care of the music as well. Finally, the accommodation: we booked a 2-night stay in a charming cottage set in a panoramic position, offering an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor jacuzzi and a splendid garden. A real oasis of peacefulness and a great hideaway for two in the very heart of Tuscany.
Sunset wedding proposal in Chianti, Tuscany: the big day
It was a beautiful day and summer was just around the corner.
The morning of the proposal, Oscar and Lydia decided to visit Siena.
They booked a private tour of the city. Together with a local guide, they walked amidst the city’s artistic and architectural wonders, learning stories and legends. From Piazza del Campo, where the world-famous Palio horse race takes place, and the Duomo, Siena’s remarkable cathedral, to hidden treasures far from the crowded tourist areas and beautiful parks and nature reserves outside the city.

After a fun Vespa tour in the afternoon, Oscar and Lydia were taking a stroll in the peaceful Chianti countryside when they stumbled across a surprise picnic.
We opted for a romantic theme with soft colors. We used pillar candles and lanterns to set the perfect stage. There were plenty of chic blankets and rugs and lots of comfortable cushions. The floral decorations included pink roses, peonies and ivory hydrangeas.
Lydia gazed in awe and Oscar confessed he had planned something special for their upcoming 10-year anniversary. She had no idea the real surprise was yet to come!
The couple sat down and enjoyed an authentic Tuscan picnic: a feast of salami, ham,
pecorino cheeses, with fruits and jams, and bruschette (toasted bread) with cherry tomatoes, chicken liver paté, rubbed with garlic and drizzled with golden olive oil. All was served with a nice bottle of Chianti Classico wine.
Of course no picnic is really complete without dessert, so the couple had some mini strawberry, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes to look forward to.

We had hired a very talented duo (a singer and a ukulele player) who came out and played some beautiful ballads for the couple. They danced a lot as the sun began to set over the Chianti Hills. It was time for the proposal.
Oscar gave the signal to stop the music and got down on one knee.
He told Lydia how much she meant to him, how she had completely changed his life and that he couldn’t wait to become his husband. As he pulled out the ring, tears started streaming down Lydia’s face. She said yes and they hugged as tight as they could.
The music started over and they began slow dancing.
You could really feel love in the air.
As the night approached, the newly engaged couple headed back to their cottage. The staff welcomed them and congratulated them on their engagement offering chill glasses of Champagne.
A candlelit dinner had been prepared near the outdoor pool: it was the perfect way to end a very special day.
